Product Spotlight: Makeup Revolution London - Welcome To The Pleasuredome palette!

I recently received a package from my cousin & aunt in Poland. They've always known how into makeup I am, so they sent me some products by a brand we don't have here in the States - Makeup Revolution. It's actually a UK based brand and I was thrilled that I could try it out! They sent me a palette, 2 lipsticks + an eyeliner & so far I'm loving them all.

Today, I wanted to focus on the palette, though. I actually used several of the colors for a look earlier and I was pretty happy with the result. Below, you'll find several photos including swatches of all 18 shadows. The first row of 12 are shimmery and the 6 below are matte.

This brand reminds me a lot of Sleek (also UK based) so I'll have to look up whether or not the two are related because their palettes seem similar.

Anyhow, if you can get your hands on this...I recommend it. I like the sleek black packaging, the cheeky little name &, of course, the color payoff of the shadows. I'm looking forward to playing with them some more.

I'm interested to see how much fallout the darker shimmer shadows produce. Either way, I'm impressed so far.

Blue Lips + Lashes

Makeup artists, gurus and cosmetics enthusiasts on Instagram have been buzzing about liquid lipsticks (and matte lips in general) a whole lot lately. For quite some time, the hottest selling shade seemed to be taupe (like Lime Crime's Cashmere).

I wasn't really taken in by this trend until I saw several companies come out with bold, vibrant and beautiful shades of blue as part of their liquid lipstick lines (Jeffree Star Cosmetics has some of the coolest shades I've seen). As someone who has always been drawn to blue, I decided to try it myself.

I went with MAC's chromagraphic pencil in Hi-Def Cyan (a product I already owned) to achieve the look. I've talked about this pencil in my latest monthly favorites post and, once again, feel the need to mention how absolutely amazing the color payoff is. I wish all of my pencils were this opaque & applied as smoothly. The color itself is absolutely stunning & I can't wait to add more chromagraphic pencils to my makeup collection.

Now, I'm sure most people who buy blue liquid lipsticks end up trying them on, posting photos to IG and tucking them into their makeup drawers (I dunno about you, but I haven't seen very many women rocking these colors in public!)...that's why I totally recommend giving this pencil a try instead. It can always be used as an eyeliner, so you get the most bang for your buck.

I'm also wearing a pair of JoJo lashes by Oh My, Lash - get 'em here!

Review: MWAH!

Today, I wanted to do a review of a lip balm I got in the mail recently!
I also really needed to click the heck off Amazon, because I've been ordering things literally all week long (I've been stuck at home, guys - that's my excuse)! Anyhow, TGIF! Am I right? Let's get into this little review!
I bought this balm on a whim while I was ordering heaps of other stuff (on Amazon, of course). The colors caught my eye and I thought it was kind of unique so, needless to say, I added it to my cart. I chose Sweet Tart but there were also coconut, cherry and mango varieties.
I've heard that you can actually get these at Ulta & CVS so if you're interested, happy hunting.

Details from the package:
- Made with real mango butter
- Natural
- Paraben free
- No harsh chemicals
- Solar-factory made
- Not tested on animals

I have to say, I was pretty impressed. I didn't read the product description before I bought it, so it was a nice surprise that this balm was cruelty free & made from natural ingredients. I'm sure that many people, like me, are drawn in by the packaging, but to know that it contains no harsh chemicals is certainly reassuring. I think this would make a great gift for kids, too.

...it's pretty light. It actually doesn't smell like sweet tart candy to me (more-so pink lemonade), but it does smell pleasant. It isn't overly sugary or sweet.
Does it work?
Yes! It's moisturizing & not at all waxy. Makes my lips feel soft and smooth.
Again, the packaging was definitely an initial draw. It's colorful & eye catching, for sure. The whole part that contains the balm itself slides out (& kind of  reminds me of a tongue haha) so the product is easy to access. I don't like to dip my finger into pots of balm or gloss, though, so I just slide it out completely and kiss it. It's called, Mwah...so, why not?

Overall, it's cute! I think I'll have to pick up a few for my niece, I have a feeling she'll love 'em!

My eyes have been killing me for the past few days. I'm also congested & just feeling off, so I'm doing a little shopping on Amazon (woops) and relaxing for tonight. Anyhow, I've been loving lip liners & matte lips in general lately, so I tossed a few options into my makeup bag this morning. Whirl lip liner by MAC is, as many of us probably already know, a fan favorite & I have to say that it has become one of my absolute favorite lip colors to wear.

I'm also excited that MAC chose to release Whirl lipstick (as well as Stone lipstick - another favorite of mine) as part of their permanent line. I really want to get my hands on both (even though it might be unnecessary because I own both liners lol).

Recipe: Tuna Patties

I decided to do something a little different today by posting a super easy (but also very tasty) recipe! I came home both tired & famished this evening (but I didn't have a taste for take-out), so I decided to make something simple at home. What I like most about this recipe is that I usually always have these ingredients in my fridge & cupboards!

What you'll need:

- Two 5 ounce cans of tuna
- One tbsp of water (this can be from the cans of tuna themselves)
- One tbsp lemon juice
- One tbsp chopped parsley
- One tbsp chopped onion
- Two teaspoons of Dijon mustard
- One tbsp hot sauce (I used my favorite - Tapatio - but you can skip this step entirely if you're not a fan of spicy food, or add less!)
- Two & a half tbsp bread crumbs
- Two & a half - three tbsp olive oil
- One raw egg
- Salt & pepper

1.) Open up your tuna cans. I like to take a tablespoon of water straight from the can & add it to my mixing bowl.
2.) Next, I drain the rest of the water from the cans and add my tuna to my bowl.
3.) After that's done, I add in all of my other ingredients: lemon juice, chopped parsley, chopped onion, Dijon mustard, hot sauce, bread crumbs, salt & pepper. I taste the mixture to make sure it's seasoned to my liking. I add the egg last & mix it all up!
4.) Once thoroughly mixed, you'll want to divide your mixture into balls. Today I made 5.
5.) Once divided, coat each ball with bread crumbs. You can spill some on a plate and roll them or sprinkle some onto them.
6.) Flatten them into patties.
7.) Heat up your olive oil in a pan on medium high.
8.) Gently place the patties in the pan & cook until they're nicely browned (usually 3 to 4 minutes on each side)

& you're done!

You can add just about anything you like to your tuna patties. I used regular onions this time, but I also like using green onions, chives or shallots.

Today I served mine with some swirls of hot sauce, sweet/sour sauce & mustard, but you can keep it simple with some lemon wedges or tartar sauce.
