CURRENT Favorites: The makeup of December + January
I've been stalling when it comes to making monthly favorites posts lately because I'm a creature of habit and use a lot of the same products over and over. In the past 2 months, though, I've definitely branched out and found some new makeup to love on. Since it isn't the end of January OR beginning of February, we'll call this a current favorite makeup post instead.

.) Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara - Ok, I love trying new mascaras. Every time I run out of a tube there's usually something new to try so I change them up a lot. I was tempted into buying this one by a friend and I have to say that I love this stuff. I bought it in a trial size along with a mini Chocolate Soleil bronzer (which we'll cover next) and I know for a fact that I'll be getting the full sized version as soon as I'm out. This mascara lengthens, separates and adds volume so it really hits every mark for me. I never have to curl my lashes when I use it, it lasts all day and it even thickens up my teeny tiny little bottom lashes too. I also love the packaging and the wand (& the cheeky little name). I may have found my HG mascara, guys.
.) Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer - I had been hearing about this bronzer forever (along with the other chocolate themed products in this line) and decided I absolutely had to try it. I was a little skeptical because I've been so loyal to my Lorac bronzer/highlight duo, but I loved this stuff from first swipe. It isn't at all orange and looks really natural. I have to say, I'm digging the chocolatey smell...it makes it fun to open up the compact and I'm totally resisting the urge to snatch up all their fun chocolate themed shadow palettes.
.) Bonne Bell Lip Smackers lip glosses - Yes, you read that right! I've been loyal to my Lip Smackers since I was about 10 and I am not ashamed to say that they're still among my favorite glosses to wear. Why? They're moisturizing, never sticky, smell amazing (whoever you're kissing will thank you) and, well, let's face it...they're just plain fun. My two HG Lip Smacker glosses are the Lip Smacker Sparkler in Celestial Strawberry & the Liquid Lip Smacker in Watermelon. What can I say, I like to work a little nostalgia into my routine! C'mon admit it, the 90s girl in you is tempted to go buy some. Am I right? :)
.) Rimmel London Exaggerate Full Colour lip liner in 018 Addiction - This is one of my favorite liners to wear. As a matter of fact, I rarely wear this with any lipstick on top. For full, pouty nude lips I apply this liner first (along lip lines and then I fill in my lips completely) adding Celestial Strawberry Lip Smacker gloss on top for fun.
.) Jack Black Intense Therapy lip balm in Natural Mint - I feel like I've been going on and on about this lip balm since I got it, but I really do love it! I was looking for something to soothe my dry lips and this does the trick. It isn't sticky so it's perfect for use on the go, but I choose to leave this little guy on my nightstand. That way, I can use it before bed and wake up to perfectly hydrated lips! I'm on my second tube and highly recommend it.
.) Eylure London lengthening lashes #114 - These are described as being "medium weight, light lashes with a fluffy angled finish" on the box. I must say, I really liked how they looked on me. They're a bit more dramatic than my usual half lashes, but aren't shiny or incredibly obvious. I love the ultra thin band and how easy they are to position along my lashlines. The strip is pretty long too, so they're easy to cut down to the perfect size.
.) It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye concealer with collagen + vitamins C & K - I've read some reviews bashing this concealer and suppose I can understand why, it isn't the easiest to use. However, once you get the hang of it, it's definitely worth it! The key is using the tiniest bit of product. I learned quickly that a literal SPECK of this concealer goes a long way. I also prefer using my index finger to apply this because the warmth from my hand helps to blend it. I also find it absolutely necessary to set with powder, which you should be doing with under eye concealer anyway. It stays put all day and, while the formula is a bit sticky, it doesn't bother me one bit because the coverage is insane. Again, the teeniest amount goes a long way. I suggest squeezing some out onto the back of your hand and using your index or ring finger to apply it in dots underneath your eyes before blending and setting. Voila! Perfectly concealed eye bags in seconds!
.) Evian spray - I've always loved this stuff but started using it a lot more on myself lately to refresh my makeup. One of my other favorite uses for it is to spray an angled brush with just a bit before I dip it into my favorite highlighting powder. It gives me the prettiest glow when I run it along my cheeks and down my nose.
.) Maybelline Brow Define + Fill Duo in Blonde - I tried this pencil on a whim and was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it. I normally use my Anastasia Dipbrow pomade in Taupe but was on the hunt for something that would shorten up my brow routine on busy mornings. One end is a retractable brow pencil and the other end is a sponge tip applicator and brow powder. In the past, I had problems finding a pencil geared toward blondes. They were usually far too orange. This one is a good color, super easy to apply and makes my brows look much fuller but still really natural. Adding the brow powder to the outer portion of my brows locks the product in place and it does last quite long. All in all, a great alternative to my brow pomade, which definitely takes some extra time to perfect.
.) Nivea Tonik Lagodzacy - Ok so for my non Polish speaking readers, this might be a little confusing. Basically, this is just a moisturizing facial toner by Nivea. I don't swipe this over my entire face but I've loved using it this winter on patches of skin that got a bit dry (like the sides of my nose). I decided to include it because, even though you may not find this on shelves at Walgreens, it is available in European markets and online. I think it's definitely worth having in my medicine cabinet and even in my kit for dry, patchy or rough skin.
.) Eveline Cosmetics Extension Volume 4D mascara in Black - Despite the 4D promise, this mascara is pretty light and natural looking when applied. I really like it because it's something I don't have to struggle with when I'm in a hurry. It lengthens and separates and I really like the formula and brush.
.) Morphe 35W eyeshadow palette - I've been using this palette since I bought it months ago and I love it. There are tons of possibilities and endless combinations. Plus, I love that there are both darker and lighter (matte AND shimmer) shades that make it easy to create beautiful eye looks without reaching for additional shadows or palettes.
.) Makeup Revolution London Salvation Palette - I've talked about this before and swatched it here. I love the colors. It has both matte and shimmery shades and they are super easy to blend. I actually did a look using this palette yesterday & mixing the forest green+turquoise shimmer shades gave me the most beautiful emerald color. Wish I could've captured it in day light, but you get the idea. The shadow stayed put all night and didn't crease. I'll be scooping up more products to try from Makeup Revolution, that's for sure!
.) Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm in Grape Vine - This has been on my favorites list before and I've been using it since college. I love grape flavored things and this is definitely my favorite one. This gives my lips just enough shine and makes them look plump and hydrated. I really like the formula of these balms in general, but this particular one is my favorite because of the added little pop of color. I always come back to it!
Til next time!! :D
